About acet-veeda

Founded in 1987, ACET-VEEDA is the Association of Spouses and Partners of transferable employees of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).

ACETAssociation des conjoints et partenaires des employés transférables du DFAE (French)
VEEDAVerein der Ehegatten und Partner der versetzbaren Angestellten des EDA (German)

Since four decades, we have represented the interests of accompanying partners and families while building a strong international community that supports its members throughout the foreign-service lifecycle.

Our members play an essential role in Switzerland's presence abroad. With each posting, they adapt to new cultures, establish networks, support their families, contribute to local communities, and provide the stability that enables FDFA employees to fulfil their professional responsibilities.

Today, our membership reflects the diversity of modern diplomatic life. We bring together Swiss and non-Swiss partners, women and men, married and unmarried couples, and families with a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds.

What We Offer

  • Information and guidance on employment, insurance, taxation, education, and family life abroad
  • Workshops and courses tailored to the realities of international postings
  • Networking opportunities and social events
  • Advocacy and representation within the FDFA
  • A supportive international community that understands your journey

Connect. Support. Advocate.

ACET VEEDA Culture

Our Mission

We support, connect, and advocate for accompanying partners and families before, during, and after international assignments. Through information, networking, workshops, and representation, we help our members navigate the unique realities of diplomatic life while ensuring their voices are heard within the FDFA.

Our Impact

Over the years, ACET-VEEDA has successfully advocated for important initiatives including the creation of the Family Office, annual pension fund contributions for accompanying spouses and partners, designated family contact persons at Swiss missions, and dual-career support services.

These achievements demonstrate the value of collective advocacy and the importance of recognising accompanying partners and families as an integral part of Switzerland's diplomatic community.
